What is the Leader in Me Program?
We are proud to share that Green Elementary utilizes Leader in Me, a comprehensive school improvement model created by Franklin Covey. Based on The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, this evidence-based program teaches essential 21st-century leadership and life skills to elementary students. Rather than treating leadership as a standalone subject, Leader in Me integrates character development, social-emotional learning, and goal-setting directly into our daily school culture and routines.
The program operates on the belief that every child has the potential to be a leader. Through this framework, students learn how to take charge of their own learning, collaborate effectively with others, and take on meaningful leadership roles within our school community.
Because a comprehensive program like this requires an annual financial investment for curriculum materials and teacher training, our Green PTA proudly helps cover this cost and accounts for this in our annual budget. A budget that is funded by the generous support of all our explorer families, annual corporate sponsors, and community. Your support directly empowers every child in our school to lead and succeed!

Because of this program, Green Elementary celebrates one of the Seven Habits each month. During the school's monthly Habit Huddle, students who demonstrate exemplary application of that habit are recognized for their positive character and leadership.
