NEW TO GREEN ELEMENTARY FOR THE 2026–2027 SCHOOL YEAR
Calling all dads, grandfathers, uncles, and father figures!
We’re excited to introduce Explorer Patrol, a new way for the father figures in our Green Elementary community to get involved, connect with students, and be an active part of the school experience.
Explorer Patrol expands on the traditional Watch D.O.G.S. program by creating more flexible and varied opportunities throughout the school year. Whether you have time for a full Watch D.O.G.S. shift, 25 minutes for High Five Friday, or simply want to lend a hand at a special event, there’s a way for you to get involved!
🧭 WHAT IS EXPLORER PATROL?
Explorer Patrol is all about showing up, getting involved, and making a difference at Green.
Throughout the year, father figures will have opportunities to support students, teachers, and staff through:
- 🐾 Watch D.O.G.S. volunteer shifts
- ✋ High Five Fridays at morning carpool
- 🎉 Special events and school activities
- 📚 Classroom and student support
- 🏫 School arrival, lunch, recess, and other campus activities
- 💪 One-off volunteer opportunities when an extra set of hands is needed
Whether you can volunteer for a few hours or just stop by for a quick morning high-five, every bit of involvement helps build a stronger Green Elementary community.

Absolutely NOT! Our beloved Watch D.O.G.S. program isn’t going anywhere! 💚
Explorer Patrol is simply expanding the ways father figures can get involved at Green.
We know that committing to a traditional Watch D.O.G.S. shift can be difficult for some families. Maybe you can’t give 4+ hours during the school day, but you can give 25 minutes at morning carpool. Or maybe you can jump in to help with a special event when your schedule allows.
That’s exactly what Explorer Patrol is designed for!

During a Watch D.O.G.S. shift, volunteers may:
- Monitor school entrances
- Assist with bus and carpool arrival and dismissal
- Monitor the lunchroom
- Support teachers in the classroom
- Work with small groups of students
- Engage with students throughout campus
- Assist with other school activities as assigned
Watch D.O.G.S. shifts can range from a couple of hours to a full school day, depending on the volunteer opportunity.

✋ HIGH FIVE FRIDAYS
Start the school day by helping us welcome our Green Explorers!
Join us for Dads at the Door, a special opportunity to greet students with a high-five during morning carpool on the first Friday of each month.
⏰ 7:25–7:50 AM — Just 25 minutes!
Wear your Green or Watch D.O.G.S. shirt and come help us kick off the school day with some positive energy!
💪 MISC. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Sometimes Green just needs a good dude and an extra set of hands!
Throughout the year, we’ll share optional, one-off opportunities for Explorer Patrol members to help with school activities, special events, or other needs around campus. No long-term commitment required — just jump in when you can!
