What is a RC?

An RC supports one teacher and classroom by organizing communication, volunteers, and classroom activities.  

  Responsibilities may include: 

• Communicate classroom needs and volunteer opportunities to parents.
• Organize classroom volunteers for parties, special events, and field trips.
• Coordinate donations of supplies, snacks, or materials requested by the teacher.
• Assist with planning the winter celebration and teacher/birthday appreciation activities.
• Help welcome new families to the classroom community

Example: Your child's homeroom teacher is planning a special science experiment but needs specific supplies, the RC would handle all communication to the parents to  ensure all needed supplies are available.

why this role matters

RC's play an important role in building a strong school community. By helping organize volunteers, support teachers, and keep families informed, they help make our school a welcoming and engaging place for all students.
